The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has announced the results for the descriptive Tier-2 examination for direct recruitment to the post of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer Grade-II/Executive in the Intelligence Bureau.

IB ACIO-II/Exe 2025 Process Details
- Intelligence Bureau invited online applications for 3,717 vacancies of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer Grade-II/Executive.
- The selection follows a multi-tier format consisting of Tier-1 (Objective), Tier-2 (Descriptive Paper), and Tier-3 (Interview).
- The descriptive Tier-2 test was conducted on 11 January 2026, and results were declared on 05 March 2026.
- Candidates shortlisted from Tier-2 are called for the Tier-3 Interview assessment round equivalent to 5 times the vacancies.

Post Allowance Note: In addition to basic scale matrix components, selected officers receive Special Security Allowance (SSA) @ 20% of basic pay plus cash compensation in lieu of duties on holidays up to 30 days maximum.

Shortlisting Tiers: Tier-2 selection is restricted to 10 times the vacancies depending on minimum written cut-offs (UR/EWS: 35, OBC: 34, SC/ST: 33). Sholisting for Tier-3 requires a mandatory minimum of 33% marks (17 out of 50) in Tier-2 descriptives, up to 5 times the available posts.
Tie Resolution Protocol

In the event of equal cumulative scores in Tier-1, Tier-2, and Tier-3 combination, candidate with higher marks in Tier-III Interview is placed higher.

If the tie persists, marks obtained in the descriptive Tier-II examination are evaluated next.

If the tie is still unresolved, normalized performance scores in the written Tier-I objective exam are verified.

Older candidates based on Date of Birth are placed higher; if identical, alphabetical order of first name determines merit.
Critical Security & Social Media Instructions
- Candidates must refrain from publicizing or disclosing updates regarding recruitment progression, selection, or center stages on personal, relative, or friends' social media platforms.
- Appointment remains temporary in initial capacity and final entry is subject to Medical Examination and character antecedents check.
- Original matriculation/secondary school records are the exclusive proof accepted for candidate name spelling and date of birth parameters.
- Government or PSU/Autonomous body regular employees must generate a valid No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of the final Interview phase.
