Selection Process

1. Online application through UPPSC OTR based system.
2. Preliminary Examination at various centres in Uttar Pradesh.
3. Main Written Examination for candidates declared successful in preliminary examination.
4. Interview / viva-voce for candidates declared successful on the basis of main written examination, wherever applicable.
5. Document verification of original certificates and claims made in application.
6. Medical examination and other post-wise checks as required under service rules.
7. Final selection as per marks, post preferences, applicable service rules and Commission’s decision.

Exam Pattern

The preliminary examination consists of two compulsory objective type papers on OMR sheets. Paper-II is qualifying in nature with minimum qualifying marks of 33%. Merit for preliminary examination is determined on the basis of marks obtained in Paper-I.

• Negative marking applies in preliminary objective papers: one-third of the marks assigned to the question will be deducted for a wrong answer.
• Candidates must appear in both preliminary papers for evaluation.
• Main Examination is conventional written type. Detailed syllabus and paper structure should be checked from the official notification.

Physical Standards / Skill Test / Typing Test

Physical measurements are applicable only for posts where the concerned service rules or requisition requires them, such as Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Commandant Home Guards, Superintendent of Jail, Excise Inspector, Deputy Jailor and District Youth Welfare and Pradeshik Vikas Dal Officer.
