Educational Qualification

Common Essential Qualification

For each trade, candidates should have passed SSC / 10th Standard or equivalent with Science subjects and minimum 55% marks, along with one of the following trade-related requirements.

Option 22 years full-time experience as an apprentice trainee in the concerned trade from a recognized institution.
Option 33 years work experience in the concerned trade in a Ministry / Department / Organization / PSU / Autonomous Body under Government of India / State / UT.

Concerned trade must match the post code applied for, such as Fitter, Electrician, Welder, Surveyor, RAC, Draughtsman etc.

Selection Process

    Applications will be screened by a duly constituted Screening Committee.

  2. 2

    Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a Trade Test.

  3. 3

    Candidates who qualify the Trade Test will be invited for Competitive Written Examination.

  4. 4

    Paper-II and Paper-III will be evaluated only for candidates who secure minimum threshold marks in Paper-I.

  5. 5

    Final merit list will be prepared only on the basis of marks obtained in Paper-II and Paper-III.

Paper-II and Paper-III marks are used for final merit. Paper-I is qualifying as per minimum threshold decided by the Selection Committee.

Merit & Tie Breaking

  • Final merit will be prepared on marks obtained in Paper-II and Paper-III only.
  • In case of tie, candidate with higher marks in concerned subject / trade will be placed higher.
  • Further tie may be resolved by lesser negative marks, older date of birth, earlier acquisition of essential qualification and alphabetical order of first name as per notification rules.
  • Date, time and venue of Trade Test and Written Examination will be intimated through CSIR-CIMFR website.

  • Latest passport size colour photograph and candidate signature.
  • SSC / 10th Standard certificate or marksheet showing name and date of birth.

  • Experience certificate where experience is claimed.
