Union Public Service Commission has released the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination-II, 2026 notification for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of NDA and the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at Indian Naval Academy.

UPSC NDA II 2026 Details
- UPSC NDA & NA-II 2026 will be conducted on 13 September 2026 for courses commencing from 1 July 2027.
- Total tentative vacancies are 394, including 370 male and 24 female vacancies.
- Candidates must apply online only through https://upsconline.nic.in.
- Admission will be based on written examination followed by SSB intelligence and personality test.

Eligibility, Age Limit & Marital Status

| Age Limit | Only unmarried male / female candidates born not earlier than 01-01-2008 and not later than 01-01-2011 are eligible. |

| Army Wing of NDA | 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination. |

Class 12 appearing candidates must submit proof of passing by the prescribed date mentioned in the notification, i.e. 10 June 2027.

Papers are objective type. Mathematics and Part B of General Ability Test will be set bilingually in Hindi and English. Negative marking is applicable for wrong answers.
Syllabus Overview
Mathematics
Algebra, Matrices and Determinants, Trigonometry, Analytical Geometry, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus, Differential Equations, Vector Algebra, Statistics and Probability.
English
Grammar and usage, vocabulary, comprehension and cohesion in extended text to test proficiency in English.
General Knowledge
Physics, Chemistry, General Science, History, Freedom Movement, Geography and Current Events.
Selection Process

Online application through UPSC Online portal using URN, Common Application Form and Examination Specific Module.

Written examination consisting of objective type Mathematics and General Ability Test papers.

Qualified candidates will appear before the Services Selection Board for intelligence and personality test.

Air Force choice candidates may have to undergo Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS) as per rules.

Final selection will be based on merit, preference, medical fitness, eligibility verification and number of vacancies available.
Examination Centres
UPSC has notified examination centres across India including Agra, Aligarh, Bareilly, Delhi, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Lucknow, Meerut, Prayagraj, Varanasi and many other cities.
Centre Allotment Rule
Centres are allotted on a first-apply-first-allot basis, except Chennai, Dispur, Kolkata and Nagpur where the ceiling rule mentioned in the notice applies differently. Candidates should apply early to get a preferred centre.
Documents & Application Instructions
- Candidate should keep details of one Photo ID such as Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, PAN Card, Passport, Driving Licence, School Photo ID or other government-issued photo ID.
- Applicants are strongly advised to use Aadhaar for smooth verification and authentication.
- Live photograph capture is required while filling the Common Application Form.
- Signature must be uploaded as per UPSC instructions: three signatures one below another on plain white paper using black ink.
- No correction / alteration / modification is allowed in the application after submission.
Important Instructions
- Use black ball pen only for writing and marking answers in the OMR sheet.
- Mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth devices, storage media and similar electronic items are banned in the examination hall.
- Entry into the examination venue will close 30 minutes before commencement of each session.
- Face authentication / identity verification and frisking will be mandatory at the examination venue.
- Question paper / provisional answer key representations can be submitted only through UPSC online representation window within the notified time frame.
