Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has released an official recruitment notification for the direct recruitment of Junior Telecom Officer (Telecom) from the open market for the notification year 2026.

BSNL JTO 2026 Details
- BSNL will fill up 100 posts of Direct Recruitment quota in the Junior Telecom Officer (Telecom) Cadre from the open market.
- JTO is a Circle Cadre and the unit of recruitment will be the respective Recruiting Circle out of 21 available circles.
- Candidates are allowed to choose their preference list of up to all 21 circles via drop-down menus during registration.
- Selection will be strictly based on performance in an All India competitive Computer Based Test (CBT).

Selection Process

CBT Examination: Candidates must undergo a Online Computer Based Test (CBT) consisting of multiple-choice objective type questions.

Sectional and Overall Cut-offs: Candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks in each section and combined total to be shortlisted.

Final Merit List: A merit list will be prepared centrally based on total marks obtained across all three sections of the CBT test.

Document Verification: Shortlisted merit candidates will be called for verification of original age, caste, and degree certificates.

Medical Examination: Final appointment is strictly subject to clearing the BSNL medical standards and color vision test.
Scheme of Examination & Syllabus
The pattern of the question paper will be objective multiple-choice questions (MCQ) with negative marking. For each correct answer, 04 Marks are awarded, and for each wrong answer, (-) 1 Mark is deducted.

Minimum Qualifying Cut-off Marks
- UR / OBC (Creamy Layer) Candidates: Minimum 40% marks in each individual section and an overall minimum combined aggregate of 50%.
- SC / ST / OBC (NCL) / EWS / PwBD Candidates: Minimum 35% marks in each individual section and an overall minimum combined aggregate of 45%.

- Section I: Materials and components, Physical Electronics, Electron Devices and ICs, Network theory, Electromagnetic Theory, Electronic Measurements & Instrumentation, Power Electronics.
- Section II: Analog Electronic Circuits, Digital Electronic Circuits, Control Systems, Communication systems, Microwave Engineering, Computer Engineering, Microprocessors.
- Section III (General Ability): General English comprehension exercises, current events knowledge, everyday observations, scientific aspects, and developments in Telecommunications, History of India, and Geography.

Complete the basic registration to receive a User Name and Password via OTP on mobile number and Email ID.

Fill out accurate qualification details and select your order of preference from 1 up to all 21 available BSNL Circles.

Upload clean scanned copies of your passport photo (20kb-50kb white background), signature (10kb-20kb), 10th certificate, degree marksheets, and caste certificates in JPEG/PDF formats.

Pay the requested application fee of Rs. 2000/- (UR/OBC/EWS) or Rs. 1000/- (SC/ST/PwBD) using online channels and submit before 03-07-2026.
Service Bond & Training Details
- Service Bond: Recruited candidates will execute a mandatory service bond of Rs. 6 Lakhs (Rupees Six Lakhs only) to serve BSNL for at least 5 years from appointment.
- Probation Period: Candidates will be put on probation for 2 years.
- Pre-Appointment Training Scheme: JTO Phase-I training (10 weeks) + Field Training (4 weeks) + JTO Phase-II specialization training (6 weeks). Candidates get a stipend allowance during training.
- Seniority Weightage Rule: Seniority will be fixed using 60% weightage of CBT exam marks and 40% weightage of Phase-I training marks. In case of a tie, the older candidate is senior.
