Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), a major Public Sector Bank headquartered in Chennai, has announced the recruitment drive for 750 Apprentice vacancies for the financial year 2026-27 under Advt No. HRDD/APPR/01/2026-27. Eligibility and Qualification

• Educational Qualification: Must possess a Bachelor's Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a recognized University or equivalent qualification.
• Graduation result must have been declared on or before 31 July 2026.
• Proficiency in the local language of the specified State/UT applied for is required.
• Candidates who have already completed or are undergoing apprenticeship in any organization are not eligible.
• Candidates having formal work experience or training of 1 year or more after graduation are not eligible to apply.

Selection Process

1. Online Written Test (CBT): Objective computer-based examination testing General/Financial Awareness, English, Quantitative Aptitude & Reasoning, and Computer Knowledge.
2. Local Language Test: Test to verify proficiency (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) in the specified local language of the chosen State/UT.
3. Document Verification: Verification of original academic certificates, age proof, identity documents, and category certificates.
4. Medical Examination: Basic physical and medical fitness test as per bank norms.

Exam Pattern

The online written test contains objective-type multiple-choice questions with a total duration of 90 minutes.

Salary and Stipend Details

Apprentices are not entitled to regular employee salary or allowances. Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend during the 1-year apprenticeship period based on branch category:
