Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), a flagship unit of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), has announced a major engagement opportunity for candidates seeking apprenticeship training for the year 2026-27. Under Advertisement Ref. No. L&D/Adv./APP/158 dated 17.07.2026, SAIL RSP invites eligible Indian nationals to apply for one-year apprenticeship training in various technical and non-technical disciplines. This program offers practical industrial exposure in modern steel production, equipment maintenance, and administrative operations.

The recruitment process is conducted completely online via dedicated central government apprenticeship portals. Trade Apprentice applicants must apply through the NAPS portal (Apprenticeship India), whereas candidates applying for Graduate or Technician (Diploma) apprenticeship training must submit their registrations via the NATS portal. There is no written examination for these positions; selection will be finalized based on academic performance and walk-in document verification at Rourkela.

Selected candidates will receive monthly stipends in accordance with Government of India apprenticeship rules. Age Limit

Eligibility and Qualification

• Passed ITI, Diploma, or Degree in respective trades or engineering branches from a recognized Institute or Board.
• Candidates must be regular pass-outs (Passing Year: 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026).
• Result-awaited candidates or candidates currently pursuing their course are not eligible.
• Candidates who have already undergone or are undergoing apprenticeship training elsewhere, or have one year or more job experience, are not eligible.
• Must be registered on the official apprenticeship portal (NAPS for ITI, NATS for Degree/Diploma).

Selection Process

1. Academic Shortlisting: Shortlisting candidates based on merit prepared from academic marks (30% weightage to Class 10th and 70% weightage to ITI/Diploma/Degree marks).
2. Walk-in Document Verification: Shortlisted applicants report for walk-in verification between 01 and 26 September 2026 at Trainees' Hostel, Sector-5, Rourkela.
3. Medical Examination: Candidates cleared in verification must meet the medical fitness standards prescribed by SAIL RSP.
4. Final Engagement: Issuance of contract letters through NAPS/NATS portals.
