About This Recruitment

The New India Assurance Company Limited, a Government of India undertaking and Public Sector General Insurance Company, has released a notification for engagement of apprentices. The engagement is under the aegis of the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme and the Apprentices Act, 1961.

This opportunity is useful for fresh graduates who completed graduation during the period prescribed in the notification and want short-term practical exposure in the insurance sector. Selected candidates will undergo apprenticeship training for twelve months and will receive a fixed monthly stipend.

Candidates should note that apprenticeship is a training arrangement only. The notification clearly states that apprentices will not be treated as employees of the Company and there is no right to claim regular employment after completion of training.

Age Limit

The crucial date for age and other eligibility is 01 June 2026. Candidates should verify their category and certificate requirements from the official notification before claiming relaxation.

Vacancy Details

The notification gives state/UT-wise and category-wise tentative training seats. The total number of seats is 550. Seats are tentative and may vary according to the Company requirement and availability of suitable candidates.

PwBD seats are also shown separately in the official notice: VI 36, HI 5, OH 1 and ID/MD 1. Candidates must check the exact PwBD category table in the notification before applying.

Eligibility and Qualification

• Candidate must be a citizen of India.
• Candidate should not have undergone apprenticeship training earlier or be pursuing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act in this Company or any other organization.
• Candidate must be a fresher with no prior training experience.
• Candidate must have completed graduation and should have the passing certificate/final year graduation marksheet dated between 01 January 2022 and 01 June 2026, both dates inclusive.
• Graduate degree can be in any discipline from a recognized university or any equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
• Candidates with job experience of one year or more after completion of educational qualification are not eligible for engagement as apprentice.
• Candidate should have 100% completed profile on the NATS portal to apply for the Company apprenticeship.

Selection Process

1. Online written test: Applicants who apply and pay the fee have to appear in the objective-type online examination.
2. Merit list: Candidates are shortlisted in descending order of marks. If more than one candidate scores the same marks, ranking is decided according to age in descending order.
3. Regional language test: Candidates applying for a particular state must be proficient in one specified local language of that state. Candidates who studied the opted local language in 10th or 12th may not need a separate language test.
4. Document verification: Shortlisted candidates are called for document verification according to state/category seats.
5. Physical/medical fitness: Selected candidates must be declared medically fit by a Medical Practitioner.
6. Digital apprenticeship contract: Candidates found suitable must accept the digital contract through the government apprenticeship portal within the stipulated time.

Exam Pattern

The online written test is objective type and carries 100 questions for 100 marks. The total duration is 60 minutes.

Regional Language Test

• Candidates applying for training seats of a state should be able to read, write, speak and understand one of the specified local languages of that state.
• Candidates who produce 10th or 12th marksheet/certificate showing that they studied the specified opted local language will not be required to undergo the language test.
• Other shortlisted candidates will have to qualify the regional language test during document verification.
• Candidates who fail to qualify the language test will not be engaged as apprentice.
• Shortlisting for language test and document verification will be up to three times of the relevant training seats in each state and category.

Stipend, Training Period and Benefits

Documents Required

Keep these documents ready before applying and for document verification. Exact document rules should be checked from the official notice and application portal.

• Aadhaar card and valid photo ID proof such as Aadhaar, PAN, Voter ID, Driving Licence or Passport.
• Valid personal email ID and mobile number.
• Passport size photograph in JPEG format, less than 1 MB.
• Qualifying degree or provisional certificate in PDF format, less than 1 MB.
• 10th / matriculation certificate as proof of date of birth.
• Class 12 marksheet and semester-wise/year-wise graduation marksheets with degree or diploma.
• CGPA/OGPA/letter grade to percentage conversion certificate, if applicable.
• Certificate showing date of result publication, if applicable.
• SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD certificate and declaration, wherever applicable.
• Medical fitness certificate at the stage prescribed by the Company.

2. Complete your NATS profile fully. The notification says candidates with 100% completed profile are eligible to apply to the Company apprenticeship.
3. Search and apply for apprenticeship with The New India Assurance Company Limited on the NATS portal.
4. After applying on NATS, continue the application on the BFSI SSC/BEEP candidate login portal.
5. Fill personal details, NATS enrolment number, age and education details, category, PwBD scribe details if applicable and state preference.
6. Upload required documents in the prescribed format and size.
7. Pay the applicable application/examination fee online as per category.
8. Submit the form and take a printout or save a copy for future reference.
