Eligibility and Qualification
- Candidates must possess the prescribed educational and technical qualification as on the closing date, 29 July 2026.
- Post-wise qualifications are provided in Annexure A of the detailed CEN. Candidates should check the exact qualification for each category before applying.
- Candidates waiting for final results of the prescribed qualification are not eligible to apply.
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering will not be accepted in place of ITI / Course Completed Act Apprenticeship for Pay Level-2 Technician posts unless specifically allowed.
- Candidates must also satisfy the prescribed medical standard for the posts they choose.
- A candidate should choose only one RRB in a given pay level and select preferences carefully because options once exercised are final.
Selection Process
- Online application through official RRB websites or the unified application portal.
- Computer Based Test for the relevant pay level. Separate CBT will be conducted for each pay level.
- Normalization of marks will be done if CBT is held in multiple shifts.
- Shortlisting for Document Verification will be based on CBT marks and merit for the respective pay level.
- Document Verification will be done at the rate of 1:1 of notified vacancies.
- Medical Examination will be conducted by Railway Administration.
- Final appointment is subject to document verification, medical fitness and other eligibility conditions.
Exam Pattern
There will be a separate CBT for each pay level. The CBT will have objective-type multiple choice questions. Negative marking of one-third mark applies for each wrong answer.
